Hello everyone. My name is Brandi. I decided to start this blog as a way
to document my transition into becoming a housewife. 2011 was the year I
became a wife. My husband and I got married in March while we were
visiting family in San Diego, CA and found out we were expecting a month
later. We had previously drove 3,000 miles across the country in my
little 1999 Ford Escort to "start a new life", basically we sat around
on a military base and didn't do much. It was the first time I had ever
been unemployed and just loafed around doing nothing. It was nice for
the first two weeks, but after a few months it really gets to you
mentally. When we found out we were pregnant we knew it was time to come
back to Huntington, WV and start being adults. When we first got back
we stayed in this little one bedroom house that used to belong to my
great grandmother in a small town called Poca. That was a big adjustment
after just living in San Diego for a few months. When I finally got my
job in Huntington, my husband quit his local gas station job and we
finally got back to where we wanted to be. We started off staying in a
spare bedroom at our friends apartment for a month. After that, we ended
up sleeping on a couch at another friends' place. Finally after a
couple of weeks of that, we ended up living in this motel on the west
end. All I wanted was a place of my own. I was five months pregnant and
going crazy. Finally at the end of August, we finally found an apartment
that was affordable, and more importantly, available. Here we are, 4
months later and 2 weeks away from my due date, and I am sitting on my
very own pink sectional couch that I got from the restore. I didn't
think we would ever get to this point. Now that I have, I hope to be
able to document becoming a housewife and mother for the first time and
share with you any ideas that come along the way.
